Bolivia the smallest country with the major indigenous population in South America. From the famous Cordillera Real (Royal Range) with several snowcapped Andean peaks to vast ,unexplored low- lying savanas and jungles, highlights a unique mixture of natural beauty and great diversity of cultures makes Bolivia a climbing adventure. There are many important archaeological sites to explore and a great variety of modern day indigenous culture in both Andes and lowlands.
The Cordillera Real of Bolivia is one of the world's major ranges offering some of the finest and most varied alpine climbing, but it is probably the least known and least climbed range among comparable mountain groups. This is due to the country's remoteness and its lack of any traditional tourism. As a result, for those who are used to climbing and backpacking in wilderness areas, for whom the experience of a minimally impacted and uncrowded area is important, and who find great appeal in exploring a remote and exotic land, the Cordillera Real offers an unparalleled opportunity. The Bolivian climbing season runs from May - September.
Covering a substantial part of Bolivia's altiplano, Lake Titicaca is the world's highest navigable lake, and from its waters and all the Altiplano we enjoy memorable views of seventeen to twenty-thousand-foot peaks that make up the Cordillera Real. This range has great vertical relief, and the steep faces of ice that characterize its peaks rise up in dramatic contrast to the extensive Altiplano. Our guides will lead you through the mystery of the mountains.
